Playout Automation 5 fulfills all requirements of broadcast facilities for channel automation. It is resolution independent, can handle 8K video as well as HD Video. Playout Automation is a multi-channel automation system with different redundancy configurations available. It can have redundant control with 1 + 1, 1 + 2, 1 + N (N> = 3) video servers for playback. Originating from VTR time, the automation system handles TAPE, DVD Disk and any type of video server.

It features a multilayer timeline for auxiliary events. Graphics, channel branding and any other external equipment can be controlled with IP, GPIO or RS-422/232 protocol.

Playout Automation 5. For smaller systems, the core is installed with SQL Server in Always-on mode. The automation controls the system based on data from SQL server. The automation core communicates with GUI software over web services, the client application can be both windows form and web browser.

UL_AUT_CORE System

Automation Core 5 Running on 02 independent automation server to control frame accuracy playout server. Control of different video servers in the same channel broadcast via VDCP, AMCP, Native API protocols (GVG K2, Harmonic Mediadeck, Imagine servers…). With native playlist control mechanisms, content can be played out from servers for a full playlist before stopping even in the case of the whole system crashing. To control extra channels for redundancy of the N playout channel with frame accuracy. The typical redundancy configuration is 1+1 for most important channels.

OnAir 5 Running on a client workstation to control the automation core. It updates the playlist, allowing manual control of system and system monitoring. User friendly GUI with powerful graphic presentation of timeline and secondary event. Voice alert in native language is a very help-full feature for operators. Running orders with supplemented graphics, video, and automation instructions can be sent to OnAir 5 to broadcast the news OFF during production. Multiple graphic layers are available to use in the program with unlimited FX on each layer. The content of the graphic layer comes from the MAM system or from file.

UL_AUT_MAM Software

MAM Client 5 The MAM system used to manage, search all media files in the playout section. It allows manual ingest and automated watch folder ingest to playout system, the life time setting of files defines the life cycle time in cache of playout server system or playout storage system.

UL_AUT_FM Software

File Manager 5 The software interacts with MAM to copy files from the NAS system to Cache storage in the playout server. The priority of copying is based on expected playout time in the playlist. The software also automatically flush the storage cache of the server to make sure the server is ready for a new incoming file any time. Any file appearing in the playlist has the priority to be kept in the cache.

UL_AUT_PRV Software

Preview 5 The software uses 01 video channel to allow the operator to check the playlist with full auxiliary event for playout compliance and for video/graphic quality checking before go On-air

UL_AUT_ACK Option

Auto check 5 Automatic checking the video decode-ability using 01 video channel of server or share the channel with preview channel. Service auto check will load the video into the checking channel and Playout the video in real-time or higher speed and notify operators about any problem with the video decoding process.

UL_AUT_RTB Software

RTB Checking 5 Ready To Broadcast checking. It will be the final technical checking of video/audio/graphic before playout. With the option, only files checked with RTB can go on-air. System automatically bypasses all not checked RTB files. It can use a separate video channel or share the channel with preview..
